Repeating The Same Thing Over: A Rant on Transformers 4

 SPOILER ALERT

Alright all of you, listen up. And do listen well to my words that I've typed. And note above that there is spoilers.

It's been a few weeks since I've seen "Transformers: Age of Extinction" on the big screen with my friend Emily and a friend of hers that I just got to know. I loved it and I gave it a very positive rating. But if it's one thing to tell: I didn't know what message anyone who gave the movies a mixed review was saying when they saw the sequels.

I've seen all four of the Transformers movies in theaters and I loved all of them giving each movie a positive rating, probably because of the action, the transformers and the fact that I knew all about the Transformers in my childhood. And believe me, I'm still keeping my opinion on what I think of the first three movies: they're fantastic as hell.

Right now, you must be thinking of this as a review for the movie... no. It's not a review, it's a rant. I'll do a review of this later. At the moment, I just want to point out that this rating is different from the rest of the others that I gave all 10 out of 10 to. Age of Extinction though: 7/10

I want to relay a single message to all of the Michael Bay fans out there watching his movies, mostly the male counterpart of his films. I'm not pointing any fingers or targeting female watchers... it'll be only the boys who helped the fourth movie reach top of the box office that opening week. Even a critic I watch only has told me this so listen to what I am going to say to you.

"Michael Bay owns you: You are the Product."

I'm not kidding when I say this, you are his product being bought by Michael Bay himself. He owns you now, hell he even owns me because do you know what I do and will always do? See every movie that he makes that has the name "Transformers" on it. And why do I keep doing it? Why do I keep giving him money to keep? I don't know. But somehow I think someone needs to take control of the director's chair and do the Transformers movies in the right way known as the 'G1 formula'.

Another thing to point out is that when the first movie came out in 2007, everyone including myself loved it: It was the greatest thing that was ever placed upon my very eyes. We had action, lots of comedy and even Shia LaBeouf when his acting was at the breaking point: he was the best actor in that year thanks to the film "Disturbia" which I still haven't seen. As a result, everyone got inspired to do other movies like: Maleficent or X-Men: Days of Future Past, even the Lego Movie and Frozen! But then Michael Bay thinks "Since this film was a success, I'll make a sequel to Transformers." But guess what happened in 2009: The plot of Revenge of the Fallen... it's just like the FIRST movie! But okay whatever, It's still a great movie and I didn't mind that. Then 2011, he released Dark of the Moon and guess what: The plot is exactly the same as the first two movies. Still, it's a great movie and I really didn't mind it.

Three years later: It's 2014. He releases Age of Extinction and take a BIIIIG guess what the plot is... THE SAME THING AS ALL THE THREE OTHER MOVIES! WOW!!!

Another problem I now have with this movie is the obsession with large explosions and majority of human scenes. For human scenes, Bay focuses on the human way too much making it seem like they're the most important people and not the Autobots. If you're going to do a Transformers movie, MAKE IT FOCUS ON THE TRANSFORMERS. If you watched the G1 series, the humans don't have as much screen-time since they're focused on the Autobots and Decepticons brawling it out at each other. In the movies, they're reduced to 20 minutes of screen time. I counted it out. For the explosions: It's not necessary to blow up every single thing in this film. Why? Because Michael Bay is shoving the explosions down our throats until we just want a break from them altogether. If you are going to use explosions: use a little less and more lasers and this that like in G1. Seriously, the dinobots in this movie don't appear until the end. Minus first seeing a glimpse of one in the beginning.

The way that Optimus Prime speaks in this movie is really WAAAAAY OUT OF CHARACTER. He's become so aggressive and is yelling and ranting like "Let's kill them all! I want to rip off their heads!" It's almost like he sounds like a lunatic who escaped a mental asylum.

Another point to make out of: the extinction of the Dinosaurs at the beginning of the movie. It's what I call: A continuity error. The humans weren't aware of the Transformers until Dark of the Moon when they find Sentinel Prime on the moon all disabled. And the fact that may confuse me and raise a question to me of how the hands of these creatures looked. Were they really the Quintessons? Michael Bay just wants to rush into the entire "Cybertron and Primus were created by aliens". That officially angered me because Primus made Cybertron in the G1 series, not the Quintessons making Primus.

One more thing to point out is that absence of villains throughout the majority of this film while the first three had a ton to blast to bits. It's mostly just humans firing at them: but at least we have Lockdown. (He is supposed to be a Decepticon by the way.) Why isn't he a Decepticon? Why is he a bounty hunter? The answered is not given out specifically. Then there's Galvatron and it's another thing that really pissed me off for being the entire "Humans made him". Michael Bay has officially screwed up the Transformers universe permanently. In the G1 movie, it was Unicron himself who made Galvatron out of Megatron along with his henchmen to replace the Decepticons. He's only in for like two minutes: he's like "Fire over there! Oh the enemy's here, I'll stand over there." By the way below is the picture of the villain Lockdown. (SPOILER ALERT)

Well, that's all I'm going to say in ranting about this movie. I don't hate it, it's the fact that there were only a few points in this that really got on my nerves easily: overall I enjoyed it still. I understand that Michael Bay is trying to bring Transformers in a completely new direction, but it's not if he's focusing on hot women and the majority of humans in the movie. I'm still going to see the new "Ninja Turtles" movie and I'm damn well excited for that. This scar of me being Michael Bay's product myself will alway remain on me though.

Give me as much hate as you want, you may agree with me for a few points. I'm still going to see Transformers 5 when it hits theaters in 2016/2017, but for now my main focus is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and what await me when I see it with my friend Emily in August: same month I see my second KISS concert with her. Both of us don't like the fact Megan Fox will be in it, but that won't stop us from seeing it because of the turtles, Splinter and Shredder. Hopefully Casey Jones will appear in it as well.

Thank you.

Nightwish - Demo - 1996 (Review)

Alas, we begin the very first review for the very first product that counts as a studio album. Yes, it's only a demo with three songs, but I still consider it a studio album because it came with the CD of 'Angels Fall First', which you will see in the next review. 'DEMO' from: Nightwish Let's kick off this party with how this demo sounds like. This was back in the year that Nightwish first formed in 1996, the same year this demo came out. At this point, the only three members at the time were Tarja, Emppu and Tuomas. You will notice that there is a large absence of drums and bass from the recording. The demo mainly is composed with beautiful acoustic guitars and synth/clean piano with majestic soaring vocals that Tarja delivers. Funny thing, there is two guitars doing leads but panning left and right. 1. THE FOREVER MOMENTS - 9.5/10 The song kicks off immediately with a grand piano playing a serene tune, before the acoustics kick in with a clean s

By Merlin's Beard! - A "Transformers: The Last Knight" Review

Before I go on to start off on this review, there just has to be the usual warning at the beginning of the reviews for a movie; especially for these kinds of movies since I've done a review on it before with a rant about the fourth film of the series. ***SPOILER ALERT*** Today I finally got a chance to head out to a theatre in Etobicoke and meet up with a friend, as I purchased tickets on the website to see the newest Transformers installation after another three-year long wait. (Last movie was in 2014.) Having been watching these movies for ten years in the theatres, I thought I could settle and go with the tradition of seeing it on the big screen. We waited for a bit as me and her were there since 3pm, but got into the screening at 3:30pm to get our reserved seats and watch the film. When the movie began, I knew somehow that there was going to be the same formula that would be repeated just like with the last three movies before this. To be honest, it is the exact s

June Feels Like Christmas - My Tour Announcement Reactions

Feels like December 25 already by the feeling of the posts that I have just seen this past week. Loads of excitement to come our way in so little time. On the afternoon of June 9, I woke up this morning as usual - grabbing my breakfast and heading straight to my computer. I check my mail and noticed that I was mentioned in a comment from my friend Emily. I grew curious enough, so I got onto the usual and began to check what she mentioned to me. It was in a comment, so I click the notification. When I looked at the link, it mentioned my all-time favorite band Nightwish and it sparked in a bit of interest. The picture fully loaded with a load of text following and this is the picture that I can describe got my attention and made me gasp loudly: That's right! My all-time favorite band are coming back to Toronto in March 2018 and various other cities in both the United States and Canada. For the nine-month tour, their stop in Toronto will be at the legendary Massey Hall wh
