So, yeah... another one of these short blog posts, but I feel it's absolutely necessary to go into this one.
Opening day for the new remake of 'Beauty and the Beast', and both me and my family go out to see it at the theatre. It's in IMAX style, and it's all fine and dandy. The trailers come on after the commercials. A few look okay in general, but one trailer caught my attention.
It's this one:
That's right, another trailer for the fifth Transformers film that is coming in two months.
You all have seen my reaction to when the first trailer came out in December, days before I had gone to see Rogue One with two of my BFFs. I knew that there would be a second trailer to follow a month after the Superbowl commercial to promote the movie. Judging by the comments section, I feel I should briefly get into this trailer - as well as my first reaction of seeing the trailer in the theater.
1. I notice that there is a female human role. (YET AGAIN!) This time to my relief, they aren't hot-looking or "She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named". It turns out that Michael Bay is working to try and redeem from his past mistakes with "her", Whitely and the other chick in the fourth film that will be forgotten easily.
2. Dinobot Grimlock appears in it. I guarantee that just like the fourth film; they will give the Dinobots very few scenes because it's the entire thing on: "WE NEED HUMANS!" "THE ROBOTS ARE NOT IMPORTANT!" "IT'S ABOUT FAMILY AND STRENGTH!" Give me a break.
3. Some new characters are coming in as well as a new design on Megatron/Galvatron. Another thing that annoys me is that Optimus did put a big red X on Megatron at the end of 'Dark of the Moon'. If you saw the Superbowl trailer, the Ark that Sentinel Prime rode on and slept is knocked away by a giant fracture of what looks like Cybertron remains. Some people told me it could be Unicron or a disciple of Unicron. Again, we don't know until the movie comes out.
There's not really much I can say about this but these are my thoughts on the trailer:
With all honesty, it was slightly better than the first trailer that came out in December. However, I feel that there should be more Autobots action, and that like the commercial mentioned: to find out who was speaking to Optimus Prime before his eyes go all purple like he is possessed.
I plan to go and see this movie with Meghan who is one of my BFFs when it comes out. I won't expect myself to like it or dislike it. I usually let the movie sink in for a bit after it ends so that I can create an opinion on what I've thought of it.
Being that it's been ten years since I saw the first live-action Transformers in theatres at the age of 13 back in 2007, I've gone to every live-action Transformers that came out ever since. Hopefully, this keeps my expectations on the film franchise in general.
And hey, there is a Bumblebee solo film coming out next year, so I might go and see that depending on how well "The Last Knight" does for me. I hear Transformers 6 will be out in 2019 but Michael Bay isn't going to direct it, nor will he direct the Bumblebee solo film. I am a bit relieved that he will be out of the director's chair for the franchise so he won't ruin it anymore with explosions, hot girls or humans taking up the majority of the movie.
It's no wonder I defend the 1986 movie a lot, but I just don't really talk about the Michael Bay films as much as I did back in high school.
